History, Culture & a touch of spice ...
For many years the holiday secret of the Spanish escaping the Summer heat of inland cities, the Costa de la Luz is gradually becoming more known - yet still continues to retain its traditional rural charms and cultural history. Our hilltop ´white village´ of Vejer de la Frontera (below) is a UNESCO World Heritage site - with local shops, tapas bars & restaurants tucked around every corner..
As well as its temperate climate, lying just 15 km from Morocco & North Africa this particular region sits at a unique crossroads in Spain, historically, culturally & geographically - which is clearly reflected in the architecture, cuisine and traditions of the region.
Visit a local bodega or sherry vineyard in Jerez; take a day-trip to Seville, Cadiz, Ronda. Gibratlar or even Morocco - with plenty of fresh local produce & craft available in smaller shops & daily markets, for those preferring a gentler approach and cooking at 'home'.
This is just a taste of what the local area has to offer ... Information Booksfound in each property contain further information and contact details for everything listed on this page, as well as many other ideas & suggestions. Enjoy!
